I am Andrea R. Troughton, Owner of Work of A.R.T. Fitness

My passion for health and fitness began when I started my own fitness journey working with a personal trainer in 2011. After spending over a year improving my health and fitness with my trainer, I decided to train and compete in my first bikini competition. At this time, I was working full time as a bartender and food and beverage server. Throughout my experience training and preparing for my competition, I changed my lifestyle dramatically. I became stronger, healthier, happier, and more confident and was inspired to help others do the same.

This inspiration lead me to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and the Personal Fitness Trainer Program. I received my Diploma with Honors from NAIT in April 2015, and earned certifications from the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology as a Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP – CPT), and the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM – CES). After completing my Diploma with NAIT, I enrolled at the Canadian school of Natural Nutrition, and graduated with honors in the summer of 2016 as a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant. I am very excited to combine my passion for fitness, and nutrition, to help others achieve overall wellness in their lives.

I love helping clients improve their lifestyles and their self-esteem. I believe that your body truly is a work of art, and it is deserving of your love.  I want to help people make physical activity a regular part of their lives, by helping them to find activities that bring them joy, while also working toward their health and fitness goals. I believe in educating my clients on how to nourish their bodies and make healthful food choices, while still enjoying and appreciating the foods that they eat. Health and wellness is a way of life, and enjoying the process and finding your personal balance is key. If I can help you feel better and see your body for how truly amazing it is, then I will have accomplished my greatest goal.
